How to curb that crazy sweet tooth!

I get asked quite frequently how to control a sweet tooth.  I also have a sweet tooth and one of the things I have found that really helps is to add a lot of lemon or lime juice to a very hot cup of water and sip on it.  Trust me that cookie will not taste very good if you do this first!   I usually use the juice of a full lemon and a full lime per big mug of hot water.  I like it very hot because it takes a longer time to drink it that way.  Water with lemon or lime is actually really good for your digestion and it can also help detoxify your body.  Lemons and limes also have high levels of vitamin C and potassium which is beneficial to the body and can help in nutrient absorption among other things.  There can be too much of a good thing however so I would caution drinking more than one glass a day as it is very acidic and can potentially cause heartburn or bother you stomach.  Give it a try next time the crazy sweet tooth needs corralling though 😉

    Sarah- do you have any suggestions for kids with sweet tooth? Or anything healthy made with cocoa? My kids love chocolate and I would like to have them eat something not so sweet and maybe good for them. Thanks!

      I actually just posted a new cookie recipe that includes some chocolate (Cherry, Coconut, & Chocolate 40 Calorie Cookies) You can really make them into any shape & color you want or even roll them into little balls instead so that might be fun for the kids to help with 😉 I am working on a few recipes with cocoa powder which I will also be adding in the future. I usually post recipes on Sundays so keep checking back for them. Thanks for the question!
