A super easy exercise that can be done anytime, anywhere & requires no equipment is called the stomach vacuum! Consistently sucking in & tightening your abs throughout the day really engages that deep inner core muscle called the transverse abdominus. It can be shown highlighted in red in the picture above. The transverse abdominus acts as a natural corset for your body so it’s important to target this muscle to create a smaller, tighter waistline. To perform this move you want to sit or stand tall, suck in & hold your abs super tight for as long as you can (while still breathing) then release. That is one repetition. If it makes it easier to understand the move pretend that you are trying to squeeze into a pair of super tight pants & suck in as if you were trying to make your waist as tiny as possible while tightening and bracing your abs. You will know when you are performing this move correctly as you will feel a deep burning in your abs the longer you hold & it will be difficult to hold this move for very long at first. Although it may seem super easy it really does work. You can perform this move multiple times throughout the day. I do these all the time πŸ˜‰
